NOW News from WA
The lucky prize winner of the Kitchen Organising Makeover was from the Southern Suburbs. A working mother, she initially was overwhelmed and embarrassed by her cluttered kitchen. She said she had not known where to start.
Six members of the WA Australasian Association of Professional Organisers (AAPO) joined forces to sort, declutter and organise the kitchen.
The Organisers were able to come in and gently but firmly prioritise the main problems that held the homeowner back. With prizes donated by Howards Storage World Myree, Dymo Label Makers and Organise Easy the organisers helped the kitchen became workable.
The storage was updated, out of date items recycled and the kitchen items repositioned for improved use of space. The prize winner said “thought I'd have to move because the kitchen was getting too small ...” Now she can find things easily and has experienced the process that will allow her to free her life to enjoy her home again.
The Make-over was completed by team of six organisers from W.A.
Marianne Shenton from Home Matters was our team coordinator, liaising with the winner and establishing a plan of attack.
Cherelle Cunningham from Neatleaf Organising and Mandy Sharples fromBalancing Chaos did a superb job on the winner’s “day to day” paperwork.
Clare Chase of Sort Your Stuff and Dee Pickford from Clutter Free made-over the kitchen cupboards and drawers making them organised and functional and fabulously usable.
Marianne along with Janet Symes from Symes Organising Solutions decluttered the pantry producing an ordered, easy to locate food storage area which will definitely aid efficiency in meal preparation.
We extend a huge thank you to Organise Easy, Howard’s Storage World Myaree andDymo Label Makers for donations of prizes used in the make-over. Overall a very rewarding day for all involved.

Perth’s Professional Organisers also encouraged the public to Get the NAC!, by taking a crash course in organising with their National Organising Week Activity Calendar.

Organising Competition Makeover – Port Macquarie
The winning entry of the Organising Room Makeover in Port Macquarie was submitted by the wife of the owner of the music room/study with the words “So please save my sanity and save any more arguments and choose his study to organise properly!!!!!!”. The man is a part time school teacher, plays in a band, & also does volunteer work for Marine Rescue and the Special Olympics. So he’s really busy. The room really hadn’t been established effectively when the couple moved into the house 7 years previously, & the recent interests had been added to the stuff brought from the previous location.

Glenda Hamilton from Perfectly Organised in Port Macquarie was joined by Simone Ferrer from Casa Interiors in Forster and Jodie Hudson from Make IT Happen, Professional Organising in Coffs Harbour to undertake the makeover.
The pictures tell the story & the owner is already enjoying being in his revamped study/music room.
Glenda Hamilton offered Port Macquarie News readers the opportunity for an Organising Makeover and secured a fantastic photo and article including simple tips for getting organised.

Also During National Organising Week Northern Beaches organisers Linda Eagleton of Creative Surrounds, Claire Lane of Urban Assistant and Michell Cudmore of Paperwork Rescue hosted an 'Ask the Organiser' stand at Sydney's Belrose Supa Centre. They spoke with many people about the advantages of being organised and gave away tips and advice on how to get started.
Thank you to Freedom furniture for supplying the furniture and Howards Storage World for supplying the desktop items to dress the stand and for donating a gift voucher. There was a prize draw on the stand and one lucky winner will receive a 3 hour organising consultation and the Howards Storage World gift voucher!
